Army of Shadows (1969)

Philippe Gerbier is a combat engineer in WII with the French resistance. He is caught by the Germans and ends up in a concentration camp from which he escapes to find and get the traitor who betrayed him executed. This would be one of those movies you really wanted to watch. The authors of this story were in the French resistance. It’s on Roger Eberts Great Movies List (review) I’m not as eloquent as Mr. Ebert, but it would the rare movie that I would sit through with subtitles and still give it an 8/10. It’s got more than your average Hulu content for commercials so be warned. It’s still not as bad as broadcast TV.
