Captain Kidd (ca. 1675) is often remembered in infamy as a cruel, bloody pirate. Indeed, he, along with his crew, has been accused of every crime in pirate history by popular tradition. He achieved perhaps more fame in song, story, and legend than any other pirate to sail the seven seas.
I’m a pretty tough movie critic, but I really like this movie. Charles Laughton gives Captain Kidd a great character in this film. If there’s a movie around here that deserves your time, you couldn’t go far wrong with this one. — Kevin’
