Recent Changes

Look up and to your right. There is a new menu button. Also, I added downloads where they were available. On iphones and ipads that means you can get the movie as a podcast. On Android it means you have to use a downloader program. I have explained this in the help file in more depth. I think everything is more or less in order. Please let me know if the pages don’t render on your device. I think this should even work on a Blackberry, but I’m not sure. I don’t know why, but my trusty Kindle Fire seems…

Subscribe via Email

You’ll get no spam and no ads for signing up to receive the latest Retrovision posts. You’ll also get download links in your emails, so you can have something to watch on the go. The first sign up box is for people in the United States. The other one is for the rest of the world. The difference is that region restricted programming, such as shows on Hulu and Crackle are omitted from the mail on the “Retrovision World” feed. How to watch Movies on your Roku

I’ve gotten a lot of mail since I quit providing a Roku channel. There were a couple problems. One is that the Roku channel cost too much to run. Another is I never found an effective way to get it to pay for itself. Then there were people who had too low bandwidth to use the channel. That got me a lot of hate mail. Chromecast a Review and How it works with Retrovision

I have one of these Chromecast doo-hickeys.  You plug it into the back of the TV and it plays whatever is on your browser.  You can also use it with specific apps like Netflix on Android and IOS devices.  This has recently started working a lot better.  I think Google is getting some of the kinks in a new product  out.  You’ll need a fairly fast computer to play Retrovision movies.  A little less so for Netflix and Hulu Plus.  This thing won’t do Amazon video, which is a little annoying, but after having had a Chromecast for a couple…

Review: Continuum (2010-)

I don’t think I’ve ever written a post that I didn’t have a full length video to go with, but I’m gonna give a grumpy old guy shout out for the Canadian series Continuum. It’s a hoot. I was looking for a new show to like and I didn’t find it for two years. Then I found Seasons 1 and 2 on Netflix. You can also buy Seasons 1 and 2 from Amazon and Google. I think there is a Season One DVD. It’s on Showcase in Canada and it’s on SyFy in the United States with Season 3 starting…
