  1. OK, here’s a trip back to nostalgia land. For 50 points, who can buzz in the correct answer first … What movie was the original Magnificient seven based on ??
    . . . . . . . . . . OK, pencils down. It was based on the Japanese movie … ” The Seven Samurai ” which starred Toshiro Mifune.
Ok, second question … how many spin off movies came from the Magnificient Seven original movie ??
    . . . . . . . . . . OK, pencils down. I personally know of four movies. 1.” The Return of the Magnificient Seven”,
    2. ” The Guns of the Magnificient Seven “, 3. ” The Magnificient Seven Ride “, 4. ” Battle Beyond the Stars ” .
If there are more, please make a new listing and Kevin, please try to egt all of these movies because they are all pretty good, especially ” The Seven Samurai “.
y’all do a great job so, please don’t stop.

  2. This was sold on cheap DVD’s with the idea that the Seven Samurai is in the public domain. Japanese courts have said it isn’t.

You didn’t want to watch the old PD prints anyway. There are two good ways to get the film. Hulu+ (paid) has this in their streaming library. This is the same restored, full length print that is on the Criterion collection DVD and BD release. It’s gorgeous. It’s also the whole movie, which was never shown to US audiences, dollar DVD copies included.

One more movie based on Magnificent Seven. Battle Beyond the Stars…. what a stinker.

  3. i’v seen this movie several times. this is one of my very farorite movies. fine acting, great story. love it. jr
