Here John Wayne plays Singin’ Sandy Saunders, the screen’s first singing cowboy. Singin’ Sandy’s ten-gallon hat was black instead of white. This movie is a little more intense than your normal musical cowbody movie of the time. Sandy says “the streets soon running with blood” and “you’ll be drinking your drinks with the dead”, which in not the tamest John Wayne of the 1930′s.

Thunderbirds (1965)

Thunderbirds is a British sci-fi from 1965 which used marionette puppetry dubbed “Supermarionation”. It’s the story of International Rescue. It’s a secret organization using advanced gadgets proceed from their Tracy Island base to protect people in imminent peril. It’s imaginative and in color which means you might not have seen it in color. I never had. It’s now considered to be a cult classic.

Star Trek – Voyager (1995)

The first Season of Star Trek Voyager is available on Hulu. It’s the adventures of the first Star Trek franchise based around space mom. Space has turned into Southern California and somebody took a wrong turn. But space mom will get em’ home.

Mom is tough. She’ll toss you out an airlock or blast you with a bunch of tri-cobalt devices. Her taste in clothes can be a little strange. And Voyager is a real piece of junk. It can’t make it to the 7-11 for a gallon of milk without having a warp core breach. Voyager must be a BMW.

I’m sure glad J.J. Abrams is on the case.

Star Trek – The Next Generation (1987)

The Star Boat soon will be making another run, the Star Boat has something for everyone. On an intergalactic cruise ship in interstellar space, Captain Jean Luc Picard run around the galaxy being poignantly politically correct while wearing red pajamas with an escape hatch. It makes you wish the Klingons had won at Organia.

Now you can revisit 1987 and the first season of Star Trek, the Next Generation and hate Wesley all over again.

It’s a bird. It’s a plane. No it’s not. It’s a button for your Chrome browser. It puts a little Indian Head test pattern guy on your toolbar. It’s the best thing I could come up with in 20 minutes of fiddling around writing a Chrome Extension.

It doesn’t do anything bad. It just pops up a menu to make navigating Retrovision easier.

With my Chrome app, you should always have a Retrovision button to hit for a dose of Classic TV comfort food.

It’s the 1932 movie Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde.
