A New Home for Retro

EDIT:03/18/09

The hyperlinks have been returned to their former places.

hammerAs always, I try to make this web a nice place, but I also have to do it on “the cheap” because it’s not exactly making a fortune.  So, I switched Retrovision to use Godaddy hosting.  It was running on a dedicated server, which was just getting too expensive.

It actually seems a little faster. There is a down side though.  All of the links in the web site have changed.  It seems Godaddy doesn’t support the custom hyperlink structure I was using.

So all those old emails, your bookmarks and stuff from before a couple days ago will be wrong.  Everything is still here, so you can find the new links with the search box.

Old time Radio shows have been moved to Retrovision Radio, a sub-site.  I did this because I was using a Wordpress Plugin (Anarchy Media Player) that would automatically convert media links into a player.  If you look at Retrovision Radio you’ll see the neat little MP3 flash players that let you play the old time radio show, if you didn’t feel like downloading it.

The neat little MP3 player became my nemesis, as my new plan is to allow you to download many of these movies and TV shows.  AMP would turn those links into players.  Taking time to rewrite AMP would have distracted me from my eventual goal of galactic conquest…

Coming soon.  Movie downloads.  More good stuff.

Best Regards

Kevin

    Thanks Kevin,
I sincerely enjoy this site, and use it most days, it has alot of great movies, on my end( Las Vegas) 89120 Zip code which is South East Vegas it seems about the same speed possibly a tad slower although not really noticeable, I have not done and pingss or trace routes to give you any good data, but I can if you would like, unfortunately I cannot contribute monetarily now, although please don’t hesitate to ask me to help technically, I have mcse and can knock my way around generally. anyway **(email removed)** if I can do anything technically for ya. Thanks again for the site it is great, super Kudos!!!! and keep up the good work. I love this place.

The best thing you can do is to tell your friends about this site. It is my best advertising.

    Hi,
I’ve never had any major problems with your site, (ok, ‘A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum’ didn’t work out so well , but I got around that; one has to be resourceful to get any laughs in life at all).

If you don’t do this, who will? I’m sure that somebody else could pick up the torch, but that would be a shame after all of the work you’ve done to put this great site together.

I wasn’t really planning on going anywhere. Just tightening the belt :) I think everyone is these days. I don’t know why you would have problems with “A funny thing”… apparently you are in Rhode Island, so it wouldn’t have been a region issue. Glad you got it worked out anyway.

    Take care guys

    Kevin

Thank-you. All of your hard work is greatly appreciated. I hear you! (antenna). I get local news, PBS, and TVO (our PBS-like station, TV Ontario). This site gives me all the other content I want (and love). Now I find you a good source for broadcast updates and news on what I`ll need to keep watching great TV and movies!
