Mobster Big Mike Morgan is killed. #2 Mobster, “Doc” Rogers re-organizes the mob. Rogers recruits Edward to run Acme Protective Agency, which is a front for a protection racket. Edward doesn’t know about the shakedown and thinks he’s running a legit business. Rogers keeps the mobsters away from Edward by telling them that “Baby Face” Morgan is a cold blooded killer that they didn’t want to meet.
