The Bat (1959) is a mystery film directed by Crane Wilbur, and co-starring Vincent Price and Agnes Moorehead. Its tagline was “When it flies, someone dies!” The film was based on the 1920 Broadway play by Avery Hopwood and Mary Roberts Rinehart, which was previously filmed as The Bat (1926) and as The Bat Whispers (1930), both directed by Roland West. The 1959 version also features Darla Hood of The Little Rascals in her final film appearance.

I would love to see a lot more of these type of movies. Mystery, thriller, Drama,
The keep u on the edge type of movies. This is a great movie. Agnes Moorhead
at her best.
Very Good Movie… Hollywood don’t make movies like that anymore.
Eduardo from Brazil.
EXCELLENT FILM, AS I EXPECTED IT WOULD BE.SUPERB CAST WITH GOOD DIRECTION.DARLA HOODS LAST FILM.SHE DIED AT 47.
And a great feather not to have legend of this classic one
People don’t get it nowadays! CGI and superb audio effects does not make a movie nor it captivates the audience. Also the massive display of gore does not scare, or holds intrigue for suspense as most movies are done now. Back in the days it was so perfectly done. I am glad I came across these. I grew up watching suspense with Peter Cushing, Vincent Price among others…. Good Job Retrovision.
There are people who have not been brainwashed to accept reality show garbage as entertainment. A discerning person can still find plenty of worthwhile things to be entertained even in 2009. A good mail order DVD rental plan will let you explore the last hundred years of film too.
Your choice in fine film? Better than ever with movie house quality in your living room. Your choice in flotsam? There’s more of that than ever too.
