Private Snuffy Smith (1942)

Tags: ,

From the comic strip “Snuffy Smith”, this is one of the two Snuffy Smith movies made for the big screen. Instead of making shine and staying one step ahead of the revenuers Snuffy decides that he’ll join the army. Snuffy is a very stereotypical hillbilly. He lives in a shack, makes moonshine, is in constant trouble with the sheriff, and is very shiftless, occasionally doing a small amount of farm work but primarily working his still and loafing.
