The Lone Ranger is an American, long-running, old-time radio and early television show created by George W. Trendle (with considerable input from station staff members), and developed by writer Fran Striker.
The titular character is a masked Texas Ranger in the American Old West, who gallops about righting injustices, usually with the aid of a clever and laconic American Indian partner named Tonto, and his horse Silver. He would famously say “Hi-yo Silver, away!” to get the horse to gallop.
On the radio and TV-series, the usual opening announcement was:
“ A fiery horse with the speed of light, a cloud of dust, and a hearty ‘Hi-ho Silver away!’ The Lone Ranger!

I happen to be watch WAZT, in Harrisonburg, VA, around 2:00 PM and found the Lone Ranger was being telecast, because of its good ethics, and christian values, on their station.
I loved watching the Lone Ranger and Tonto and started watching it again. Did you know they used the same sets, and trails, even some movie clips of them riding. The little one window shack was used in several episodes, but changed a little inside. No matter, his speedy draw and accurate shooting, was fun to watch. Tonto had to do most of the investigating, while the Lone Ranger put out campfires. It is great to see them again after so many years. Beats todays too realistic horror tv, which is not good for children. Back then there was no blood, your imagination got to do all the work. “He is the Lone Ranger”
Hi Ho Silver, (waves) away!”
Please Keep bringing more westerns such as the lone ranger, gunsmoke, and westerns
that are still in black and white. Also westerns that tell a story from beginning to end.
Keep showing retro., and Vicky will keep watching.
Love these old westerns as they bring back fond memories, Do you know where I could find any episodes of “The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin”?
