Some of you have been looking at this black theme. Some of you like it. Some of you don’t. I think it’s absolutely dreadful. It’s a commercial pagelines theme, which has technical advantages, but it’s going to need some help cosmetically. It might take till Christmas. ;)

It looks like blip tv has gotten their web player under control, so you should see enhanced results with the new player. Hulu evidently blew a gasket yesterday with incredibly poor service delivery, but they seem to have gotten back to normal.

There is a new page on the upper left toolbar. You should notice it. It is a page with all of the content on this web site in a big list. I separated “USA ONLY” content, which is at the end of the list. If you are abroad, this should help you navigate.

So the new theme needs a paint job. Did you like the old Indian head test pattern thing? I was thinking about going deco like the radio site. What do you think? Are there any web sites you can point me to where you liked the color scheme?

I could probably make this new theme look substantially like the old one. What do you think? What’s your favorite color?

I wasn’t going to say, but now that you have, I think this black is horrible, too. I think it’s supposed to make viewing videos easier on the eyes, but you have to be able to read the content before you view the video. I liked the old Indian head with test pattern, but then that looks very familiar to my ancient eyes, and therefore comforting. It may be strange to young eyes. If you *have* to chose a color and not use the Indian Head, then go with something green–but not garish green or “government hospital” green. Green is easy on the eyes. The Indian Head thing was green, but not too much green, which made it perfect.

Green. I was moving toward red. I think it’s still too dark. I think it’s more legible than the old theme. It may end up looking a lot like the old theme. It might not.

You will like one feature I added. Look all the way at the bottom of the page and you’ll see the category…. Easter Egg…

    Kevin,
What is not to like about this web site? It’s simple, doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not and delivers the goods every time. Self flagellation is not necessary….instead take a bow for a lot of hard work. I was born about the time Rome fell so the old test pattern gives me the warm fuzzes. I used to watch it a lot…..it was the only thing showing at night.

The old test pattern may be back in some way. I have fiddled with this theme making it redder. I’m not happy yet. I think some color is better than black.

I sort of like the simplicity of my other theme. “Under the hood” this is a far superior theme with features I haven’t half taken advantage of.
