Jack Benny reminisces on how he found Mary Livingston working in a department store. The Jack Benny Program, starring Jack Benny, is a radio-TV comedy series that ran for more than three decades and is generally regarded as a high-water mark in 20th-century American comedy.
Jack was married to Mary Livingston. After he passed away in 1974, Mary started getting a single red rose delivered to her house every day. She called the florist and asked who was sending her the roses. The florist told her that Jack Benny told him that if anything ever happened to him, he was to make sure Mary got a single red rose every day for the rest of her life. He made arrangements in his will to make sure it would happen. They were married for 53 years.
