Leonard Nimoy

A painter friend of mine, who became a little famous for his paintings, once told me “I’ll paint you a picture, I’ll paint your house, I’ll paint your car”. He was indeed a painter. This is the way I feel about Leonard Nimoy. Star Trek was usually on at 4 after I got home from school. I’m sure I know all the episodes by heart.

Just to show you how not seriously Leonard Nimoy took himself, even in fame, he did things like this:

It’s nice that Nimoy got to make his living being an actor. Invasion of the Body Snatchers is still one of my favorite movies. He could play Spock or not. He did a lot of voice acting. This was a working man doing his craft and he seemed to accomplish that with considerable charm.

I am going to miss Leonard Nimoy.

  1. Dear RetroMan,
Is there any way you can get Star Trek on RetroTv? I thought I had seen every episode way back when, but I don’t recall any episodes with the black&white people. I was quite busy raising a family all the years the show was a daily staple; maybe there are more episodes I might have missed.

Once again, thank you so much for bringing back some of the best parts of yesteryear. RetroTv is a favorite “can’t live without” in my book. [insert smiley face here]

  2. This is like the 20th time I’ve played Nimoy singing Bilbo. It’s such a catchy tune we’re all playing it over and over. I never knew Nimoy sang. We even like listening to him sing Johnny Cash songs. In fact one of my kids said, “That sounds like something Johnny Cash would sing.” the first time we listened to it. Thank you for sharing Leonard Nimoy with us.

  3. Hi RetroMan! Hope you’re having a fine day. Still enjoying this video whenever I have a moment to actually watch it while it’s stuck in my head. Thank you
