Little Lord Fauntleroy (1936)


Little Lord Fauntleroy is a 1936 film starring Freddie Bartholomew. A young American boy must go to live in England with his grandfather and become Lord Fauntleroy. His grandfather is an Earl who hates Americans, and his American mother. This film also has a very young Mickey Rooney who plays a shoeshine boy friend of Little Lord Fauntleroy.

  1. Come and get your sweetness overload! This is just a wonderful film of a wonderful story, with absolutely nothing objectionable. If you want to watch a lovely simple movie – here you go. By the way, the stereotype of the little Lord being spoiled is absolutely wrong. It is the opposite, he is a just a great little boy; as such this is a nice movie for even young children. If your taste runs to totally wholesome movies, here is one you’ll love.
