Those where the days of less problems in the world, not like today, eh ! Reply Kevin May 28, 2013 @ 3:03 pm Less problems in the world? In 1958, Korea was over. Castro was plotting his ouster of Batista. Vietnam was brewing. We weren’t in it yet. The French were getting pummeled by the communists. And we invented the hydrogen bomb. At any time during the 60’s and 70’s we could have ended the world in 4 minutes. Now it would take us a few hours. Another thing I think makes 2013 better than 1958 is the lack of deep poverty you saw in the 60’s. You don’t see kids with rickets like you used to. Reply Arthur September 13, 2015 @ 2:32 am War has been around since mankind, but the 1950’s and 60’s for that matter was a much better place to live in than now, drugs have always been around but there was no ice, no bashing of old people, there was respect for the older generation, no bashing of some innocent guy in the streets or 6 guys onto one. Life as it is now SUCKS! Reply Kendall Square October 19, 2013 @ 7:59 pm ONE OF MY FAVORITE TV WESTERNS, AND THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE EPISODES. Reply Hugh Phillips January 28, 2016 @ 3:16 pm Love the Rifleman! I think times were easier but I do like having the internet. I grew up in the 60’s and 70’s(born in 66) and think it was a much better time to be a kid. However, like one man said in a previous comment, we were very close to nuclear annihilation as tensions stayed at a boil all through the 60’s until the final collapse of the USSR. Still, I do love the net and some of the things today but overall I think people were happier back then. I think if we do not close the gap between the rich and the poor and bring back our manufacturing jobs from overseas then we could see some very, very bad times here. Enough of the gloom, lets thank Kevin for keeping this cool site running. I have been a fan of this site for several years now and always stop by and have a quick look-see. Keep up the good work Kev!! Reply Kevin January 29, 2016 @ 7:20 am Hi Hugh – Hope you are well.
