  2. it’s one of those irwin allen space time warpy things.

  3. I think he was lying about his age being all hep with his turtleneck and tight slacks. It wouldn’t pay to be the rock n’ roll hall of fame old dude.

  4. I just think it’s funny that when Doug and Tony are with the aliens, the barometer that shows the drop in atmospheric pressure is right next to the same device that Doug used in the previous episode to determine that Haley’s Comet wouldn’t hit ,,, and he makes no mention of it :)

  5. Just wanted to say thanks, love watching this channel before bed

  8. Guys, … Let’s go back to those heady days of the early to middle 60s in terms of Sci Fi. We had STAR TREK, The TIME TUNNEL, MISSION IMPOSSIBLE, VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA, LOST IN SPACE, THE OUTER LIMITS and others that were airing on the TV during peak viewing hours. Then, don’t forget that on Saturdays, we had Anime,Cartoons and most of the ” B ” grade Sci Fi movies being shown !
The 60s culminated in a space race between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R. . And, then President John F. Kennedy clearly stated that the U.S. was going to the Moon ! The Russians were quick to level the playing field by stating they would go to the Moon as well.
This was an awesome time in which to live but, it was also a dangerous time in which to live. There was the CUBAN MISSILE CRISIS with nuclear tiped missiles aimed right at our cities, the Russians had Ilyshyn middle range bombers stationed there that could easily reach up to St. Louis, Missouri. In short, all of the deep south and mid south states were targeted. Memphis, Tennessee had nothing less that TEN nuclear warheads planned for it while other southern cities didn’t fare any better.
This too was the time when you saw an explosion of Private Detective and Spy TV shows and Movies come out such as TV shows like … HAWAIIAN EYE, T.H.E. CAT, 77 SUNSET STRIP, SURFSIDE 6, DRAGNET, PETER GUN and many others.
The movies aired such things as … DR. NO ( The FIRST 007, JAMES BOND MOVIE, The IPCRESS FILE, and many others.
This wave of interest continued on into the 70s with many more TV shows and Movies in these two generas. Of course, Europe and especially Japan were no exceptions. In the United Kingdom, there were many spy shows and movies while Gerry Anderson and his associates were using puppets instead of live actors and actresses for such immortal TV shows as, …
CAPTAIN SCARLET, SUPER CAR, FIREBALL XL-5, THE THUNDERBIRDS and more. their work went so far as to produce live acting TV shows such as … U.F.O., CAPTAIN SCARLET and a movie dealing with THE THUNDERBIRDS !!
Germany had an incredible TV series titled … RAUM PATROUILLE ( which means SPACE PATROL ) France and Italy had their own versions of space and spy shows and movies.
Even behind the Iron Curtain they were doing the same exact thing we were doing except, they were doing it their way and with their own slant on things.
In Japan, they created perhaps one of the most memorable monster movies of all time … GODZILLA ! The original which was shot in black and white was truely terrifying. It’s premise dealt with modern science that had gone horribly wrong and you might say that nature decided to fight back. The original, with RAYMOND BURR, is perhaps the very best one of the GODZILLA group of movies and the monster film genre as well with one exception, … KING KONG.
Oops, I’m sorry for getting overly nostalgic here but, like I said, those were some heady times. ——- JT —

  9. I am just amazed that everywhere they landed and even people from out of space all spoke English

    • We know that the Time Tunnel, in 1966, could translate languages without instrumentality. We know that Star Trek the Original series could do the same in 2269. We know from Star Trek Enterprise that Hoshi Sato (Linda Park) needed instrumentality and cuteness to do it in 2151. I’m just not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth 😉
