Why Vietnam? (1965)

Send to Chromecast

This documentary starts with Lyndon Johnson answering the question: Why Vietnam? It was made by the Department of Defense in 1965 presumably to show to military personnel. This is before we really knew what a can of worms Vietnam was going to be. It has good historical content about the prelude to our involvement by the French and Vietnam under French colonial rule. The transfer of this from the Department of Defense was technically pretty poor, so I cleaned it up some digitally.
