X Marks the Spot (1942)

A cop gets killed when he runs into some gangster Marty Clark heisting a warehouse. This is a film noir, gumshoe gangster movie of the cheapest variety and it kind of rambles a bit. It’s still a fair movie and a pretty good example of the film noir genre.

I’ve had a problem within the last 3-4 months getting movies to go to full screen on my iPad 2. It’s aggravating trying to view an entire film on a 1 inch square screen! It didn’t seem to do this much earlier.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  2. Nice flic, but what I’m interested to know more is about the “human wired jukebox service” that plays major part in this movie. I never heard about it, I don’t even know what to google for. Can you tip me about this service ? Tnx

  3. Kevin, I’m not kidding. brouse the film and you can see.

    • What I think was kind of interesting is the pre-electronic solution where they had a record room in the basement with Victorola’s, the sound being carried by tubes, like a big hose to the rooms.
