Whether it’s Ruta Lee and Bobby Van repopulating the human race or Duane Jones killing zombies, I’ve got you covered for free science fiction movies you can watch online.

Adventure

Red Dawn (1984)

In this lively (and paranoid) adventure set in the mid-1980s, the US stands alone, abandoned by its allies. The USSR and Cuba start selective bombing, then invade the US and quickly capture the central part of the country. The film takes place entirely in a small town taken by surprise by paratroopers. A band of teenagers (led by Patrick Swayze and C. Sci-Fi

Horror

The Crimson Ghost (1946)

Here’s a copy of the Crimson Ghost, aka Cyclotrode X .  It’s been colorized, stitched together, and presented as a movie.  I don’t think it loses anything.  This is my favorite Republic serial. It’s got Clayton Moore of Lone Ranger fame,  who plays an almost unique role as The Crimson Ghosts henchman “Ash”.

Adventure

Master of the World (1961)

This is sort of like 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, except it’s an airship. Vincent Price stars as Robur, who is basically captain Nemo.  This the the kind of thing I might have watched on Saturday afternoon in the 60’s while taking my nap.

Sci-Fi

This Island Earth (1955)

Here we go. Hats off to Jeff Morrow. He was also Dick Tracy on the radio. Man! Is this movie schlock! But it is in the category of so bad, it’s good. It’s a corny mix of ham, glue and wood. Dr. Cal Meacham is flying to his laboratory in a borrowed Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star jet. Just before landing, both engines fail, but he is saved from crashing by a mysterious green glow.
